Class Two: hand cut layout

28th and 30th of October 2008


In this class we will focus on using just the basics from our tool kit. When you are travelling and want to scrap, but don't have the supplies, fall abck on the basics!

Supplies needed:
One photo 5"x7" (portrait).
One full sheet of patterned paper as a background.
One sheet of plain cardstock for boarders and flowers and to mat your photo.
One strip of patterned paper, prefferably with a stem and leaf pattern on it for a strip and also flower stems (stems can me cut by hand or with the cricut if needed).
One strip of ribbon, minimum 12" long.
One A4 sheet of felt for a strip and flowers.
2 large buttons for flower centres.
5 small buttons as an accent.
5 small brads for an accent.
Small to medium alpha for a title.
Small seed beads (available from Chez's Crafty Affair in Boulder).
Small to medium chipboard accent to overlap the photo (I used the image of a flying bird).
Embroidery thread in two colours for stitching on the patterned paper background, in the buttons and across the felt.
Needle.
Wet glue.
Hole piercer.
Dimensional Magic to fix beads.
Word stamp and ink to stamp onto your photo.
Pencil.
Scissors (very important).

Techniques used:
Hand cutting.
Beading.
Hand stitching.
Hand-made flowers.
